The Portuguese international midfielder Otavio Edmilson da Silva Monteiro, called Otavio, who was a member of FC Porto, will join Al-Nassr, the Saudi Arabian club where Cristiano Ronaldo plays, for 60 million euros (just over 65 million dollars), the Portuguese club announced on Tuesday.
The midfielder joins the ambitious project of the Riyadh team and signs until 2026, as announced by the Saudi entity through its official channels. The Portuguese will wear the number ’25’.
FC Porto “reached an agreement with Al-Nassr for the definitive transfer of the registration rights” of the player, the Porto club specified in a statement.
“It’s hard to leave the club after nine years here,” but “it’s the cycle of life,” the 28-year-old reacted in a video posted on the Dragons’ website.
The Portuguese international, born in Brazil, came to Porto in 2014 from Brazil’s SC Internacional.
And now he will join Al Nassr with his compatriot and teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, the team’s reference, who has already signed Marcelo Brozovic, Sadio Mané, Seko Fofana and Telles in this summer transfer window.
