Portuguese arrested at Schiphol with more than a ton of cash in a coat

The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee has arrested a Portuguese man with 102,000 euros in cash in his coat pockets at Schiphol. The 45-year-old man arrived at the airport on a flight from Switzerland.

According to the Marechaussee, the man could not properly explain why he had such a large amount of cash on him. He was therefore arrested on suspicion of money laundering.

The Public Prosecution Service will investigate the case, city broadcaster reports AT5.
