Portugal still plays with the best formation even though they are certain to qualify for the Euro 2024 finals. Iceland also tries to fight back, but the difference in level is clear.

Portugal’s attacks from the first minute only produced results in the 37th minute. Silva’s backheel pass was received by Bruno at the edge of the penalty box, followed by a low shot into the bottom left corner. Goal! Portugal 1-0 Iceland.

Winning doesn’t make the match easier for Portugal. Iceland’s defense was quite tight. Cristiano Ronaldo clearly shows frustration.

In the second half, Iceland fought back with extra energy. Portugal cannot freely develop their game.

It was only in the 68th minute that Portugal’s second goal arrived. The attack scheme was from the left side, Felix’s shot was blocked by the goalkeeper, Ronaldo continued, who was again pushed over by the goalkeeper, then Horta shot the second rebound into the open goal. Goal! Portugal 2-0 Iceland.

Iceland had a golden opportunity in the 90th minute. Oskarsson’s shot was blocked by Costa, but the rebound landed perfectly for Traustason, but unfortunately his shot hit the post.

There were no additional goals until the end of the match plus four minutes of injury time. Score 2-0 for Portugal’s victory.
