In the Portuguese capital of Lisbon, thousands of teachers and school workers have protested for more money and better working conditions.
Some called for the resignation of Education Minister Costa. Numerous educators across the country have been on strike since the beginning of December. Costa threatened to issue a decree forcing her to return to work. In the face of soaring energy and consumer prices, the demonstrators believe current wages are too low.
