A few more people could be there when the candidate arrives in Brooklyn’s Clinton Hill neighborhood on a sunny Saturday morning. But Andrew Yang does not show the disappointment. He steers purposefully towards a man with a baby, chats with him and then slows himself down to heart the child: “No touch!” Everyone laughs. The television images would be perfect if a passer-by didn’t call out: “Andrew, we don’t want you here!”
