News Ciamis, (harapanrakyat.com), – The border road of Ciamis and Majalengka Regencies in Cibeureum Village, Sukamantri District, Ciamis, West Java, was badly damaged.
This condition is certainly very dangerous for road users who pass through this route.
Muhamad Bar, a resident, stated that the damaged condition of the Maniis Cibeureum road has been going on for more than two years.
In addition to the damage to the two-kilometer-long road, the number of potholes in the middle of the road leaves rocks without asphalt.
“So that the drivers, both local residents and residents of Majalengka, must be more careful when crossing,” said M Bar Monday (29/11/2021).

M Bar continued, the border road between the 2 regencies is crowded with vehicles going to Ciamis and Majalengka every day.
Not a few Ciamis residents who go to Majalengka many who pass this route, and vice versa.
“However, with the damage this road becomes dangerous, even accidents often occur,” he said.
Jalan Manis Cibeureum is also said by Bar, is the closest alternative route when heading to Majalengka district.
Usually on holidays such as Saturday or Sunday many Majalengka residents pass this route to return home.
“For this reason, we as citizens ask the Ciamis Regency government to be able to repair the border road, because the Sukamantri District area is the location of the border so that it becomes the face of Ciamis,” he said.
With the improvement of the road, he continued, the pace of the community’s economy will not be hampered.
“The point is to ask for immediate repairs, if left unchecked, the damage will continue to occur and there will be more and more potholes, especially now the rainy season,” he concluded.
Ciamis Regency Government Will Perform Border Road Maintenance in Sukamantri
Meanwhile, Head of the Highways Division of the Ciamis Land and Spatial Planning Public Works Department, Hilman Nuryadin, confirmed that the border road was in bad condition.
He admitted that the Maniis-Cibeureum route had not yet been included in the repair plan.
To repair the road, his party will only carry out road maintenance.
“Later, the UPTD Bina Marga will do it, so that damaged and perforated roads can be patched properly, for the overall repair we are planning again,” he explained.
