Trainer at the Longe Côte de Carnac (Morbihan), Julie Niergot is selected to participate in the first French team of this changing sport.
Since March 2021, Julie Niergot has joined the Team Sport Nature team, alongside Yoann Coédel to teach the long coast. The young woman, a trained lifeguard and who also created a school of swimming mermaid
in Erdeven, is engaged in this activity to diversify into different nautical activities
. She discovers an activity which makes sense. A team sport with people from different walks of life where there is solidarity
. Very quickly, the specialist in nautical techniques felt the desire to try and go to the competition
.
Within the Carnacois club, which is in the leading pack at the national level and is the first Breton club, it participates brilliantly in competitions, in particular during the French championships which took place in Hyères, in the Var, at the last fall.
“Provide an image of sport in its own right”
This spring 2022, as the season resumes for the Carnac club, with a qualification for the French championships, Julie Niergot, has been selected to join the national long coast team
which is in the process of being set up, in anticipation, in particular, of future mediterranean championships
with results that rank her among the top six times.
The idea of participating in the adventure of this first French team excites Julie. A great challenge at a time when the hiking federation, on which the long coast depends, is carrying out a policy which aims to renew the image of water walking.

long seen primarily as a quiet leisure practice, underlines Julie Niergot, mentioning the latest developments: the creation and development of events at national and international level, the creation of a French team and the appearance of new events like relays or duels, which are more impressive and attractive.
Great sports results
For the time being, the Carnacoise team is preparing for Saturday’s competition with confidence, after the good results obtained in the Brittany championship on April 24, 2022, with 29 lengths out of 31, selected for the French championship and validation of the seven best times over ten events
