FC Porto icon Paulo Futre was furious following reports that Chelsea players celebrated with pleasure when the two sides were reunited in the Champions League quarter-finals.
The Primeira Liga side have shocked Juventus in the last 16 games to get there, but they are seen as the row of underdogs for the remaining clubs to go through with the tournament.
The Blues, meanwhile, passed Atletico Madrid and were allegedly happy to have avoided favorites like Manchester City and Bayern Munich in the eighth draw.
Futre appeared on Portuguese television channel CMTV recently to give his reaction to the match between Porto and Chelsea – and said he was furious at the reported joy on Thomas Tuchel’s side.
And he urged Porto players to use it as motivation to go and cause another surprise in the competition.
“The Chelsea players celebrated when they found out they had drawn Porto,” Futre said. “How did I know? It’s in the English press and I called later to confirm.
“FC Porto players have to race like never before in these two matches. Do you know why? Because Chelsea believe they have already won the draw. They celebrated! “
