Admittedly, it should not just be a dance on roses for the latter when she fell in love with DeGeneres, something she opens up further about in an interview with his wife.
On Monday last week, Rossi showed up «The Ellen DeGeneres Show»where she talked about what it was like to come out as a lesbian to her grandmother – at the same time as she had started dating the 64-year-old.

– Promised not well
During the episode, Rossi made no secret of the fact that her grandmother was one of DeGeneres’ biggest fans, and she never missed an episode, except one, writes Us Magazine and People.
It was when the talk show queen decided to appear queer in one of the episodes, that the grandmother refused to watch the program. Rossi said that from that day on, she referred to DeGeneres as “the nasty woman” when commercials for her show were broadcast on television.
– It did not bode well for me, she said, who at that time had not yet come out of the closet.
Rossi, who is originally from Australia, eventually moved to Los Angeles to work as an actress, where she also found love and stayed with DeGeneres.
When she returned home to her family, she was finally told that she had been with a woman.

– Still loved me
There was no doubt that the Australian actress was nervous about telling the family about her new flame, but she was especially afraid of the reaction of her then 99-year-old grandmother.
– I sat at my grandmother’s chair at her feet, then she asked me: “Do you meet a special person now?”. By this time, my mom had already told my grandmother that I was with Ellen, and she knew we were living together, she continued during the episode, adding:

Then I said: “Grandma, I’m with Ellen”, and she just put her hands on her head and was completely silent. Then I thought, “That’s it, I killed my grandmother, I really thought so,” she joked.
