The District Command of the Public Security Police of Portalegre reports that, within the scope of an investigation initiated at the end of last year by the Criminal Investigation Squadron, it carried out in the last hours a major Police Operation, which culminated in the arrest of six men and five women, aged between 20 and 55 years of age, for the crime of drug trafficking and possession of prohibited weapons.
This Operation involved the execution of 28 Search Warrants, 21 of them aimed at households, and the following were apprehended:
- 762 individual doses of MDMA (Ecstasy);
- 646 individual doses of hashish;
- 415.00 grams Liamba
- € 1,285.00 in cash;
- 1 firearm (pistol turned) and 1 alarm weapon, both Class A;
- 42 ammunition of different calibers;
- 1 sock;
- 1 butterfly face;
- 1 vehicle (light passenger);
- 3 motorcycles;
- Various electronic equipment;

Scales, mills and other objects related to or resulting from illegal activity.
The detainees will be present to the Judicial Authority during Tuesday morning. In addition to the previously described, in the action eight individuals were also identified and notified to appear before the Portalegre Commission on Deterrence and Drug Addiction for possessing small amounts of narcotics. the execution of this vast operation, the Portalegre PSP Command had the support of the Special Police Unit and the District Commands of: Évora, Santarém, Castelo Branco and Guarda, with a total of 65 police officers assigned to the Criminal Investigation areas and Public Order, supported by 4 kinotechnical binomials. One of the diligences took place in the village of Nisa, counting, therefore, with the collaboration of GNR. It is our conviction that this operation caused a severe blow to the drug traffic in the city of Portalegre, as those targeted, maintained a very dynamic activity locally , with the aggravation of developing part of it in public places and close to school grounds. In this sense, we believe that this PSP action will contribute to increase the tranquility of the city of Portalegre.
