Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has urged Ukrainian President Volodomir Zelensky to accept Russia’s proposal to end the war, according to the American portal Axios, citing an unnamed Ukrainian official.

The portal does not mention any details of Russia’s offer, but the Kremlin has publicly demanded the “demilitarization” of Ukraine, neutrality, recognition of the annexation of Crimea and the “independence” of the occupied territories of Donbass.
A high-ranking Ukrainian official said Bennett had initiated a telephone conversation on Tuesday and advised Zelenski to accept Moscow’s demands, the portal said.
“Bennett basically advises us to give up, but we’re not going to do it,” the portal quoted its source as saying.
However, a senior official in the Israeli prime minister’s office said that the description of the Ukrainian official’s telephone conversation, as described by Axios, was untrue.
“We have doubts as to whether this official is a high-ranking official who is currently in Ukraine and who was present during the telephone conversation because it was a private line. Our contacts are directly with President Zelensky and his closest advisers, ”said an official from the Prime Minister’s Office.
Bennett has not advised Zelensk to accept Putin’s demands because Israel has not received such a proposal, an Israeli official said. “The Prime Minister does not intend to give Zelensk any recommendations or advice at this stage.”
The conversation between Zelensk and Bennett was good and long, during which it was discussed the possibility of holding a meeting with a mediator in Jerusalem, the official said.
