The Port of Hamburg and Duisport are moving closer together.

“As a sign of close and trusting cooperation,” says a statement, the Duisburg port operator Duisport has now joined the Port of Hamburg Marketing (HHM) association.

This membership will enable both ports to combine their expertise and extensive networks and thus exploit synergies to act together as a strong voice for the German economy.

»With Duisport as a new member, we have the opportunity to offer our customers an even broader portfolio of transport solutions via the Port of Hamburg,« emphasizes Axel MatternBoard Member of Port of Hamburg Marketing. “I am convinced that the collaboration will be a win-win situation.”

Both ports see great potential, for example, in the areas of climate protection and shifting traffic to waterways and rail. “In order to promote more sustainable and efficient transport logistics, the waterway and rail systems must be further expanded and modernized,” emphasizes Duisport CEO Markus Bangen. “By working together to achieve this, we will increase the attractiveness and competitiveness of both logistics locations.”

Looking forward to a good collaboration (from left): Katja von Loringhoven (Deputy Head of External Affairs duisport), Joachim Holstein (Corporate Representative for Inland Shipping duisport), Andreas Bartel (Head of Corporate Communications duisport), Christian Negele (Head of External Affairs duisport) and Markus Heinen, HHM Representative West.
