The German carmaker Porsche has announced that it will introduce 160 new, already approved paints via the Paint to Sample program. However, for those who do not even choose from them, the studio has set up the Paint to Sample Plus program, where customers can create their own varnish.

The number of paints available will vary from model to model, as more than 100 colors are available for the 911 and 718, for example. There are only about fifty for models like Panamera, Macan or Cayenne. The customer can buy a fully electric Taycan sedan in 65 different shades.

The new paint mixing bank, which was established at the Porsche factory in Zuffenhausen, is behind the expansion of the offer. This will also increase production, as out of five models a day, the machine can now handle up to 20 911 models in 24 hours. For those interested, the machine can also create a completely individual varnish from the supplied sample – hence the name “Paint to Sample”.

This process can take up to 11 months, as the varnish must be tested. And of course it’s not free – the price is from $ 22,860 to $ 25,660, depending on the model, ie 520 to 584 thousand crowns. For so much money, it is possible to buy an entire car elsewhere – for example, the Škoda Octavia starts at just 520,000.
