The traditional Porsche Cayman 718 Cayman GT4 RS, the sharpest derivative of this model line so far, will certainly be the brand’s most premiered traditional fan of the brand. It will be a version in the style of a “full-fat” Porsche 911 GT3 RS – but the name for the “baby model” refers to a lower racing version.
“The RS initials are a guarantee of the best at Porsche sports. Now the new Cayman can be proud of the RS designation. Stronger, lighter, with really functional aerodynamics and impressive time on the Nordschleife. We have something to look forward to, ”says Jan Sedláček, Executive Director of Porsche Import, Porsche Inter Auto CZ. The car presented its capabilities even before the official premiere, The Cayman GT4 RS circled the famous North Loop of the Nürbugring with a time of 7: 04,511, 23.6 seconds faster than the Cayman GT4 PDK.
However, the Cayman GT4 RS with a more powerful engine and lighter construction will not be Porsche’s only premiere for this year’s LA Motor Show. A key novelty will also be the third body version of the Taycan electric car. It is so far very successful in terms of sales, this year it is the second most popular model in Europe, after 911.
The carmaker has not yet revealed what this is about. However, due to the trailer, it can be assumed that it will be a station wagon variant, probably called Sport Turismo. It would be a logical addition to the initial model and the increased Taycan Cross Turismo station wagon.
However, even that does not stop Porsche news for Los Angeles. In California, we will also see a new racing special 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, Panameru Platinum Edition, a luxurious and stylish specialty of this model line, and a new performance version of Taycan. According to Porsche, it will be a “driver-oriented and extremely dynamic version”, standing in the hierarchy between the Taycan 4S and the Taycan Turbo. Given the character, this will be a model named after other such models Taycan GTS.
The news will be officially unveiled on November 17 at 05:00 Central European Time. The Los Angeles Motor Show will be open to the public from November 19-28.
