At the end of last week, Porsche boasted a new record at the Nürburgring, which was set before the official premiere by the modernized Panamera. And now we are finally learning more about her.

There has been a passionate debate for a long time about the meaningfulness of new car records at the iconic Nürburgring. And in fact, it is not surprising that the desire to set a record on a famous circuit often leads carmakers as well creating slightly absurd classes with almost negligible competition.
However, in the case of Porsche, which spends most of its time developing sports models, the desire to ride ever faster bikes is fully understood. After all, Porsche holds the absolute record at the Nürburgring and recently added a record among luxury cars.

Its holder was the modernized Panamera model, which with a time of 7: 29.81 surpassed the Mercedes-AMG GT63 S. Last week, Porsche released a short video for a new record, which did not reveal much. And we didn’t even know much about the car itself.

According to earlier speculations, it was supposed to be a new type of Turbo model that will be commonly available to customers – that is, of course, without a protective cage inside. Much more important, however, were the mentions of increased performance and other technical modifications, thanks to which the modernized novelty should put the current Panamera Turbo in its pocket.

Recall that the current Panamera Turbo offers more than a solid output of 404 kW (approx. 549 hp) and a torque of 770 Nm. So what can we expect from the novelty, under the hood of which a twice-supercharged four-liter eight-cylinder is expected? It reveals a telemetry video directly from a record drive on the Ring.
The Motor1 website drew attention to two moments when the car’s telemetry shows the output of 634 hp at approx. 6200 rpm and a torque of 832 Nm at 4800 rpm. Compared to the standard Panamera Turbo, this will be a fairly solid increase in performance.

In addition, the carmaker has also published a classically mysterious demonstration of the new Panamera, from which we do not see much. However, she added that the digital premiere of the sharp news will take place on August 26 at 3:00 pm Central European Time.
