Porsche introduced a unique redesign of the old 911

The idea to transform the old Porsche 911 from the turn of the millennium was born in the heads of the Porsche Club of America management in 2018, when the fan group bought it. The management of the fans decided to make the car a tribute to the 911 Sport Classic from 2010, which was not imported to the USA. Porsche itself took care of the rest.

The car headed to Germany, where it was taken over by engineers from the Classic department. They were the first to decide that the engine in the car would be replaced. The original was replaced by a 3.6-liter flat atmospheric six-cylinder 911 GT3, which produces 381 horses. Among other things, the car also got a GT3 early.

Porsche’s special projects director Grant Larson took care of the visual side of the unique car and found inspiration in the already mentioned 911 Sport Classic. The car was taken out of Sport Gray paint and also got racing lanes, GT3 side sills and 18-inch Fuchs aluminum wheels.

A lot has changed in the interior, because the car was, for example, equipped with a modern infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The car also received a Alcantara perforated leather ceiling, a seat with contrast stitching and a special set of luggage with the same pattern.

The car is the only one of its kind, and therefore its price is incalculable. The current owner is, of course, the Porsche Club of America, which will exhibit the car on various occasions.
