In Franciacorta there is the eighth center to live the Porsche experience, it is the largest in the world, occupies an area of 60 hectares and allows the brand’s customers (and non-customers) to carry out numerous activities.

Castrezzato is a town in the province of Brescia with about 7,400 inhabitants. Located in an area of great scenic interest, it is known among motor enthusiasts for the presence of the Franciacorta racetrack. A 2.5 km long track frequented and appreciated above all by motorcyclists and by those who compete in the karting championships at the weekend. Precisely this sporting vocation, combined with the fortunate geographical position, convinced Porsche to invest in the existing structure, expanding its spaces, restoring the entire track and introducing numerous activities, dedicated to the customers of the Stuttgart sports brand but not only. This is the eighth Porsche Experience Center, the first in Italy but the largest in the world: here all Porsche enthusiasts, and car enthusiasts in general, will have the opportunity to live the experience of driving on the track, to participate in courses safe driving, having fun on a kart track and learning about the off-road capabilities of the Porsche SUV range. A wide, complete infrastructure and services that can bring even corporate team building activities closer to the automotive experience, given the presence of a conference room and classrooms.

The choice of location

Geographically, the location of the new Porsche Experience Center is very advantageous from a touristic point of view. Located in an area of great scenic interest, appreciated both by many inhabitants of Northern Italy and by the Swiss, Germans, Austrians and French, who can reach Franciacorta with relative ease. Overall, the customers who can drive to the facility in their own car represent a good percentage of the total European customers for Porsche. The presence of Lake Garda and the vineyards contributes to creating a top-level tourist sports offer.

The off-road route

Among the activities available there is a driving experience on an off-road route, which can be tackled with the current Porsche SUV range. Macan and Cayenne are put to the test through rather demanding challenges: twists, ramps, descents and a small dirt track where they can express the dynamic qualities of the cars with greater awareness. Although the intended use of these models is rather far from off-road activities, the route studied by the Porsche Italia team convinces for its difficulty and number of exercises; the vehicles, for their part, are surprising for their effectiveness and quality in overcoming these challenges. During the test, both Cayenne and Macan overcame the obstacles to which they were subjected with great serenity and ease, demonstrating the great quality of the Porsche structure, even when it comes to off-road vehicles.

The circuit

The sporting experience, however, remains the true protagonist of the Porsche Experience Center in Franciacorta. The 2.5 km long circuit resumes the characteristics of the previous management, after a careful work of asphalting and complete restoration of the curbs. Thanks to similar investments, it has obtained the highest degree of FIA homologation: here it will be possible to host any motor racing competition, with the exception of Formula 1 alone. Needless to say, Porsche’s commitment to host the Carrera Cup in Franciacorta is already confirmed. Customers and enthusiasts will be able to experience the adrenaline of a fast lap with the Porsche sports range: 911 and 718 and the new generation Taycan electric. The course is quite technical, with some tears, a restored variant and a straight of medium length. An ideal facility for learning to master the exuberance and power of the engines produced in Zuffenhausen with greater awareness.

Low Friction

The structure was also designed to host safe driving courses. Among the various activities, a track where you can experiment with controlled power oversteer: the surface is in laminated concrete and replicates road conditions with very little grip. With the support of the instructors, you learn to control the car in dangerous situations, trying to manage loss of stability; the more experienced, on the other hand, can have fun running the entire route with the rear all sideways.

Go Kart and Simulators

The content offer is designed to offer an immersive and engaging experience even for those who want to participate in the activities of the Porsche Exprience Center with their family or friends. At the side of the main track, there is a small kart track, where up to six competitors can build a grand prix and compete with each other. Go karts are electric and are available between different engine power maps, available depending on the skills of the individual drivers. For those who have not yet obtained their driving license, or for those who simply have the curiosity to try, there are eight stations with the latest generation driving simulators. The workstations can be integrated with virtual reality viewers, in order to live an even more immersive and engaging simulation experience.
