The Porsche Crest has been discreetly updated and will appear on vehicles at the end of 2023. The famous badge has been in use since 1952.
Porsche has updated its badge, although you have to be a die-hard fan to notice the newness right away.
Although design changes are restrained, the sports car brand notes that it took them at least three years to complete the redesign of their famous crest.

We can see it next to previous versions of the badge, with the first being used as far back as 1952 and later modified in 1954, 1963, 1973, 1994 and 2008.
The updated logo appeared a few days before Porsche’s 75th anniversary special event. On June 8, 1948, the brand’s first car approved for road use, the 356 “No.1” Roadster, appeared.
The new badge will first appear on vehicles later this year. In terms of changes, the red sections now have a honeycomb structure, while the brushed metal finish adds a more refined look.
It should be noted that technically the brand has not abandoned the previous design, as all retro badges can still be ordered through Porsche Classic. Some tidbits of the coat of arms to look out for are inspired by the seal of the city of Stuttgart, and the black and red colors along with the stylized antlers were borrowed from the coat of arms of Württemberg-Hohenzollern.
The original 1952 design was by Franz Xaver Reimspis, who is also credited with drawing the Volkswagen logo in 1936. Porsche has been producing cars since 1948, but the coat of arms didn’t appear until four years later. The emblem was first applied at the end of 1952 on the handlebar rim, and then in November 1954 was integrated into the hood handle of the 356 Speedster.
We can see the updated Porsche crest on June 8, when the German brand promised to look forward to offering its vision of the sports car of the future. It could be a concept car to replace the 718 Boxster/Cayman electric, a 911 hybrid, or a hypercar to fill the void left by the 918 Spyder.
