At Porsche there is a bad problem to solve: one of the best-selling cars has run into a serious fault.
Modern cars often suffer from technical problems, which force brands into mass recalls. This time it was Porsche’s turn, which had already had problems with another vehicle, or the electric Taycan. The latter, together with aAudi with zero emissions, had been reported for a fire risk, and the recall has already taken place, with the problem having been resolved.

In these cases, as is right, the repair costs are all borne by the manufacturer, who has a considerable burden to bear to fix the cars. It certainly isn’t the best way for Porsche to celebrate its 75 years of historyas well as the 60 of the 911, the most significant model to have been built by the Weissach company, in all its versions.
In the last few hours, it was made known that a maxi-recall hit this very vehicle, with the German brand being forced to control a large number of cars. However, at least on paper, it shouldn’t be too complicated a problem to solve, even if, on a safety level, a malfunction in that area could be very dangerous. Let’s see what exactly happened.
Porsche, here is the fault that affected the car
On the website “Autoevolution.com“, the story was brought to light which concerns a large recall of the Porsche 911 due to a problem with the airbag system. This is a safety system of capital importance, the functioning of which must be perfect, or the risk of getting seriously hurt is really high. The curious thing is that the defect was discovered in October 2021, i.e. over two years ago, but only now has there been talk of a recall.

Indeed, at the time on a car the airbag was activated by mistake, causing the spleen injury of the person in the vehicle edge. In essence, the problem is not linked to a failure to activate in the event of an accident, but to its activation during regular driving, something very dangerous given how this device works.
For more than a year and a half there were no other problems, but the situation worsened in June 2023, when another similar accident was announced, again on a 911. Two more airbag failures occurred in July and Augustbringing the overall count to four, and it was clear, at that point, that it was no longer a coincidence, but that there was something more serious to analyze.
According to what emerged, the airbag control unit will be reprogrammed at no extra cost to owners, as had already happened for the Taycan. The most important thing is that there were no victims, even if those who were involved in these accidents certainly did not fare well. We hope that everything will be resolved quickly by the German company.
