“Slowly but surely, Ukraine is winning the war against Russian aggression. Even though Russia has ten times the arsenal for their howitzers and cannon artillery. It’s really difficult. If we had more weapons, more artillery and more tanks, this “There would be a shorter path to victory. And that would also mean a shorter path to peace. You can imagine: the more weapons, the closer peace. And this is exactly about Ukraine and the situation in the Donbass, in the east of our state,” Poroshenko stressed .
Answering the question whether Ukraine is ready to give up part of the territory for the sake of ending the war, Poroshenko said that the territorial integrity of Ukraine is not a subject for compromise.
“No matter how it is, it is also a subject for negotiations. After all, this will not stop Putin. This will be another fact that will motivate him to continue his aggression. And no one knows where the Russian forces will be tomorrow. Maybe in Gotland in Sweden, or in Alaska in United States, or in the Baltic countries on the border with Russia,” Poroshenko added.
“We must stop all Putin’s attempts to blackmail Europe, because this war is not only against Ukraine. This is a war against the entire civilized world. And we must find the right answers to all these blackmail attempts,” the politician summed up.
