If there were presidential elections in Ukraine in the near future, the current head of state, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the fifth president, leader of the European Solidarity party, Petro Poroshenko, would be in the lead. The incumbent president in a possible second round is ready to support 60.4% of respondents, and his predecessor – 39.6%.
The corresponding results were shown by a sociological study Razumkov Center. We are talking about those persons who intend to take part in the elections and have decided. Among all respondents, support is 33.3% and 20.3%, respectively.
Among all candidates in the elections, Volodymyr Zelenskyy also takes the first place – 32.4% of the vote, and Petro Poroshenko – 17.2% of those who intend to take part in the elections and have decided.
This is followed by Yuriy Boyko – 13%, Yulia Tymoshenko – 9.8% and Igor Smeshko – 7%. The rest of the candidates received less support.
The study was conducted from June 11 to June 16, 2021 using the face-to-face interview method at the place of residence of the respondents. A total of 2018 respondents aged 18 and over were interviewed in all regions of Ukraine, with the exception of Crimea and the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, according to a sample representing the adult population in terms of basic socio-demographic indicators. The theoretical sampling error (excluding the design effect) does not exceed 2.3% with a probability of 0.95.
The sociological survey was carried out within the framework of the research project “Ukraine: 30 years on the way to Europe”, funded by the Representative Office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Ukraine.
