Genever and liqueur stoker Lucas Bols is the new owner of Passoã. Bols paid more than 70 million euros for the remaining shares to the French beverage group Rémy Cointreau, the Dutch company announced on Friday.
Lucas Bols already partly owned the drink used in the cocktail porn star martini. In the UK it is the most popular cocktail.
In December 2016, the Dutch Lucas Bols through a joint venture already partly owned the Passoã brand. Rémy Cointreau, known for the cognac and the liqueur Cointreau, owned the rest of the company. “The brand is doing very well, even in today’s challenging times,” says Lucas Bols CEO Huub van Doorne.
In addition to Passoã, the hit song porn star martini also contains vodka, vanilla syrup, passion fruit and the juice of half a lime. The cocktail is usually served with a shot of prosecco.
