According to a survey, Austrians want KFV survey In view of the risk of flooding, pragmatic preventive measures, more information and a clear legal framework for protection in the event of an incident are needed.

Particularly striking is the high level of support for legal framework: 89 percent of respondents were in favor of clearer and uniform regulations on compensation for natural hazards. Natural disaster insurance that benefits all citizens is also seen as a promising measure – 82 percent supported this idea.
Top marks were awarded in the current survey to the performance of the Austrian forces awarded: With “above-average performance”, the fire brigade, Red Cross and the Austrian Armed Forces receive high recognition from the population for their efforts.
