The report of confiscated properties to recover the losses caused by the violence unleashed under the guise of the Popular Front Minnal Hartal will be submitted in the High Court today. The confiscation process was completed and the draft report was forwarded to the Advocate General by the Land Revenue Commissioner through the Home Department. It will be compiled and handed over to the court on Monday morning. Revenue Minister K Rajan said that the account of 207 properties will be submitted.
The properties of the leaders who led the state-wide violence in the last two days were confiscated. It was headed by Tehsildars and Village Officers as per instructions from the Revenue Commissionerate. The Land Revenue Commissioner handed over the district-wise figures.
The preliminary estimate is that the damage caused by the lightning strike is Rs 5.2 crore. Institutions including KSRTC have suffered losses. Foreclosed properties are sold and charged to losses. For that the value of these things will be calculated. The High Court will take the final decision in this regard. Those who object to the confiscation proceedings will also be given an opportunity to approach the court. Some of those who faced confiscation have come forward with complaints that they are not popular friends. The High Court will give a verdict in this regard in the next few days.
