Popular festival returns to Frankfurt – stages, music, stands and “a wonderful feeling”

After a year’s break, it’s starting again with three stages, 60 stands and lots of food and music: the Swiss street festival is back.

Frankfurt – After a year-long break, the Swiss street festival is returning to Frankfurt. This coming weekend (September 28th and 29th), the Swiss Street Action Group will once again open the doors to the street of the same name. For many, this is good news, after all, thousands of visitors have always come in the past, and in 2023 the popular festival had to take a forced break.

The Swiss street festival is an integral part of the traditions in Sachsenhausen. In addition to a variety of local and international culinary offerings. It goes without saying that apple cider shouldn’t be neglected. Respected DJs, known for their performances at the World Club Dome and in the Frankfurt club scene, will provide the musical accompaniment on three stages. They can be found at Schweizer Platz, in front of the Frankfurter Volksbank branch and on Textorstrasse.

Swiss street festival returns to Frankfurt

With three stages, over 60 stands, music and gastronomy, even the youngest visitors will get their money’s worth in the “children’s play street”. Meanwhile, the “Marktstrasse” with its diverse stalls invites you to stroll, as the city of Frankfurt reports. A supporter campaign enables, among other things, participation in the raffle on Sunday afternoon (September 29th) with many prizes and also supports the Frankfurt Children’s Aid Foundation.

“Schweizer Straße is one of the most beautiful and popular shopping streets in our city,” says Frankfurt’s head of the economic department, Stephanie Desert. The board members of the action group, Ralf Wagner and Gregor Meyer, are grateful for the support of everyone involved: “It is a wonderful feeling that the Swiss street festival is back after a year’s break.”

The Swiss street festival begins on Saturday (September 28th) at 2 p.m. on Schweizer Platz with the opening by Economic Affairs Director Wüst. For two days, the festival offers a platform for encounters and community in the cultural diversity of Sachsenhausen. Visitors can get there easily using the subway and S-Bahn, but trams and buses are an option.
