Egypt Recalls Popular Pain Reliever: Vegaskine-D Tab
In a move to safeguard public health, the Egyptian Medicines Authority (EMA) has announced a nationwide recall of Vegaskine-D Tab, a medication used to treat various types of pain and muscle spasms. The recall, detailed in Circular No. 54, affects all pharmacies across the country.
The EMAS decision to pull Vegaskine-D Tab (operational number 2196001) from shelves follows a thorough inquiry into its quality and composition.The authority stated that the recall was implemented ”after a comprehensive study by the Authority, to ensure the effectiveness and quality of the available medicinal products, and to ensure there are no health risks that may arise to consumers as a result of using this product.”
Pharmacies and distributors have been instructed to immediately remove all affected batches from their inventory and return them to the manufacturer. The EMA is urging consumers to cease use of vegaskine-D Tab immediately and consult their physicians to discuss alternative treatment options.The EMA’s statement emphasizes,”Patients who own this planning are advised to stop using it immediately.”
