Al Marsad Newspaper: Researchers show that green tea consumption can lead to “longevity” and reduce the risk of death by up to 82% for some people.
A study published in JAMA showed that people who consumed the highest amount of green tea reduced their risk of cardiovascular disease by up to 82%.
The results indicated that those who drank at least five cups of green tea a day were 76% less likely to die than those who didn’t drink it.
And the American Association for Cancer Research reported, “Green tea is rich in polyphenols, which have powerful antioxidant properties. The most abundant polyphenol in green tea is EGCG,” according to the “Express” newspaper.
Tea is thought to have a powerful effect on aging and age-related phenotypes because it regulates the stress response, which in turn affects lifespan.
