Today the organization of the Trophy Cyclocross – which this year will be called X²O Bathrooms Trophy Cyclocross – announced the calendar for this season.
The regularity criterion consists of 8 races, but the Azencross in Loenhout is not included this year. The popular cyclo-cross skips a year. The city council calls crosses in a village center unsafe during a pandemic.
A cross in Herentals takes the place of the Azencross once. The new competition on the domain of Sport Vlaanderen will take place on Wednesday 23 December, with an old ski hill as the executioner.
Wout van Aert will be at the start in his backyard, just like his eternal rival Mathieu van der Poel. They also cross swords in Baal and Hamme.
Van Aert made his comeback in Loenhout last year, where Van der Poel won for the 3rd time in a row. In the women’s team, teammate Ceylin Alvarado struggled through the mud the strongest.
