Pope Francis, at the end of the recitation of the Angelus at St. Peter’s Square, renewed its call for peace in the Middle East, condemning attacks on Christian places of worship. “I continue to receive very serious and painful news from Gaza about defenseless civilians being subjected to bombing and shooting: this even happened inside the Holy Family parish complex, where there are no not terrorists but families, children, the sick and disabled, nuns. Scripture declares that God stops wars, breaks bows, and breaks spears. Let us pray to the Lord for peace,” said the Pontiff.
