Pope Francis stressed that this December 8th concludes the Year dedicated to Saint Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church, and prayed that he be a guide on the path of holiness.
In addition, the Holy Father indicated that on December 10 the Jubilee will also conclude in the Shrine of the Virgin of Loreto on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the Virgin of Loreto as Patroness of all aeronauts.
“May the grace of these events continue to act in our lives and in those of our communities. May the Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph guide us on the path of holiness!”, Said the Pope after leading the prayer of the Angelus before the many faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican.
Year of Saint Joseph
Pope Francis called a Year of Saint Joseph on December 8, 2020 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the declaration of Saint Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church.
For this reason, the Holy Father published the Apostolic Letter Father’s heart, with the objective of “that the love for this great saint grows, to be impelled to implore his intercession and imitate his virtues, as well as his resolution.”
In this document, the Pontiff wrote some personal reflections on the “extraordinary figure” of Saint Joseph, “so close to our human condition”.
Saint Joseph was “always ready to do the will of God manifested in his law and through the four dreams he had and had the courage to assume the legal paternity of Jesus, to whom he gave the name revealed to him by the angel,” said the Dad.

In addition, the Pope invited on December 7 to ask the Lord in this season of Advent “for the paternal intercession of Saint Joseph, the grace to always remain as sentinels at night, attentive to see the light of Christ in our poorest brothers ”.
In this time of #AdventLet us ask the Lord, through the paternal intercession of Saint Joseph, for the grace to always remain as sentinels at night, attentive to see the light of Christ in our poorest brothers.
