During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of launching a joint initiative on climate change, in preparation for the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change “COP 28” this year in Dubai Expo City. With the aim of involving religious leaders, religious institutions and civil society organizations in achieving the objectives of the conference.
The initiative comes with the aim of calling on all religious institutions, religious leaders and civil society organizations around the world to unify efforts in order to achieve the common goal of protecting the planet; The common home of all humanity.
The initiative aims to benefit from the role of religions in consolidating bridges of communication between countries, cultures and peoples, and opening new horizons for climate action.
The meeting discussed the possibility of establishing a pavilion for dialogue between religions and cultures at the twenty-eighth United Nations Conference on Climate Change, to represent a special platform for enriching enlightened religious dialogue and exchanging knowledge and experiences in this field, as well as being a platform for dialogue between religions and cultures, and highlighting the crucial role of benefiting from visions and values.
