In his Easter message, Pope Francis called for a peace solution for Ukraine and for the settlement of other violent conflicts in the world. The pontiff appealed to the international community on Sunday to end the Ukraine war and “all conflicts that stain the world with blood”. Francis also expressed his concern about the escalation of violence in the Middle East. In Jerusalem, the Easter celebrations took place under tightened security measures.
