Valente was born into a very musical family in 1931, which meant that her life path was set early on. At the age of five, she was already performing in shows with her family, in which she danced and sang.

In the post-war period, she enchanted her audience with hits in many different languages: she sang in German, Italian, French, English and seven other languages, often accompanying herself on the guitar.

She impressed everyone with her versatility, she could sing pop, chanson and jazz and performed some songs like “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Honolulu Strandbikini” with a wink.

She was honored with a Grammy nomination for her music in 1959, but that was not her only talent: in the 50s and 60s she appeared in numerous films and TV productions, and had numerous shows of her own in Europe and one in the USA.
