The “Sounding Mountain Christmas” tour has to do without Bata Illic. The 84-year-old pop star is in the hospital after an accident and even had to undergo an operation.
Munich/Gräfelfing – There are only a few active musicians left who have really earned the title of “schlager veteran”. One of them is undoubtedly Bata Illic (84): the Yugoslavian-born folk musician has been on stage for more than half a century and still regularly performs live. The 84-year-old doesn’t seem to want to retire anytime soon.
Accident, hospital, operation: pop star Bata Illic is out “until further notice”.
Now, however, Bata Illic has to take an unwanted break: The “Black Madonna” interpreter should actually have taken part in the “Klingenden Bergweihnacht” that is currently taking place, where folk music favorites like Patrick Lindner (63) and Alexandra Hofmann (49) will also appear . Around two dozen joint concerts are planned by the end of 2023 – but these will take place without the 84-year-old.
As Bata Illic announced on Facebook on Thursday (November 30th), he is completely out of action “until further notice”: “Unfortunately, I have to inform you that I had to undergo surgery yesterday after an accident and am currently still in the hospital,” wrote the pop star in his post. But he hopes “to be able to be on stage again very soon”.
“Sounding Mountain Christmas” without Bata Illic, but with four other pop stars
However, it is not known exactly what the situation is with Bata Illic. However, his words make it clear that the pop star will be fit again in the near future. The 84-year-old will miss the “Sounding Mountain Christmas”, but well-known replacements have been provided: Patrick Lindner, Alexandra Hofmann, Nadin Meypo and Geri der Klostertaler (63) will duly represent their colleagues at the upcoming concerts.
The first tour stop is on Friday (December 1st) in Uhingen, Baden-Württemberg, followed by around two dozen further dates in various regions of Germany until December 30th, including Torgau (Saxony; on December 6th), Eisenach (Thuringia; on December). December 8th), Landau in der Pfalz (Rhineland-Palatinate; on December 14th), Günzburg (Bavaria; on December 23rd) or Singen (Baden-Württemberg; on December 29th).
Meanwhile, hit fans are threatened with trouble: Because the new TV director has to save money, Florian Silbereisen’s (42) ARD shows are on the brink. Sources used: facebook.com/bata.illic.official, reservix.de
