A third book about local transport in Erfurt near Sutton has now been published. Appealing in presentation, print and layout, the content appears to be put together quickly and without any particular depth. Tram fans who have absolutely no interest in buses should be warned: 60 images of trams are compared to 88 photos of buses.
Divided into four time periods, the half-page photographs are strung together without any recognizable system and with very poor captions, for which it is rarely enough to state the type designation of a bus, for example. The quality of the illustrations is without exception good; two folded double pages could have been saved. At least there is a current vehicle overview of both means of transport at the end, network maps are missing (once again). Anyone who is comfortable with such publications should do so; in the reviewer’s opinion, a comprehensive presentation of a topic looks different!
