“Poor Things”: Award-Winning Film by Yorgos Lanthimos Starring Emma Stone

Although it is rare for opinions to agree on the quality of a particular film, the new film “Poor Things,” by Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos, received a standing ovation from critics and viewers alike upon its premiere.

Since then, the successful feminist film, starring American star Emma Stone, has received a great deal of praise as a work of creative genius.

In the film, Stone (35 years old) embodies the role of a modern-day Frankenstein’s monster, freeing herself from restrictions of her own making. After the film won the main award at the Venice International Film Festival, which is the “Golden Lion”, in addition to two “Golden Globe” awards, viewers can now enjoy watching “Power Things” in local theaters.

For starters, the actors and actresses gave excellent performances. Emma Stone won a Golden Globe for Best Actress for her role in the film, and she will certainly be nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal of an adult woman with a child’s mind. She began relearning how to speak and move, a process that requires a lot of linguistic effort and also includes a lot of clowning and humor.

American actor Willem Dafoe (68 years old) plays the role of scientist Goodwin, who finds a dead body after a pregnant woman named Bella after her suicide, so he decides to bring her back to life and transplant the brain of a child into her. Dafoe embodies the role of Godwin, as a man with flexible morals, a genius scientist with a paternal nature.

There is also another positive feature in the film, which motivates the viewer to ensure that he enjoys watching it inside the theater and not at home, which is the tremendous visual effects, which transport the viewer to another world. Goodwin and Bella live in a surrealist Art Nouveau villa.

It is assumed that the events of the film take place in the 19th century, although this is not entirely clear. The entire place, not just the house, looks as if it was designed by the famous Spanish architect, Antoni Gaudí, according to what a journalist from Literary Hub magazine recently said.

Furniture, ships, and houses were all made in a creative, detailed way, with fans shaped like flowers or twisted columns. There are also patterns embroidered with satin on the walls and floors, made of velvet.

. Emma Stone won a Golden Globe Award in the Best Actress category for her role in the film, and is awaiting an Oscar nomination.
