FORWARDERS
Filip ChytilNYR (vs VGK) – The New York Rangers center scored twice against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday to bring his total points (three goals, one assist) to four in his last two games. He also fired eight shots on goal in those two games. Although he mainly plays on the third line, Chytil is Rangers’ third-most goalscorer (15) and second in even-strength goals (12). In the December 7 duel against the Vegas Golden Knights, he hit the target on one of his three shots.
Yegor SharangovichNJD (vs DAL) – Sharangovich was moved to the left of star center Jack Hughes, Thursday, for the duel against the Nashville Predators. Result? He ended a 13-game scoreless drought by completing a superb breakout play from Hughes and was used for 16:44, his highest total since Dec. 1. Lindy Ruff will repeat the experience for this second match in as many evenings and Sharangovich can only take advantage of the situation.

DEFENDER
Adam BoqvistCBJ (vs VAN) – The Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman has four assists in his last four games and is used on the first unit of the power play with, among others, Johnny Gaudreau et Patrick Laine. Boqvist is due to score his first goal of the season, considering he netted 11 in 52 games last season. The Blue Jackets face the Vancouver Canucks, who have allowed eight goals, including two shorthanded, in two games under new coach Rick Tocchet.
GUARDIAN
Antti RaantaCAR (vs SJS) – Raanta came in relief at Frederik Andersen after one period against the Dallas Stars on Wednesday and was perfect against 15 shots to earn the win in a 3-2 overtime win. It was his first win since Jan. 1, as he has been plagued by injury lately. He hadn’t seen action since Jan. 7. With Andersen not fully recovered from the injury he sustained against the Stars, Raanta will get the start against the San Jose Sharks, who have lost their last three games and only won two in their last 10 meetings. The Hurricanes have won their last three games.
