What if we have had Covid-19, if we have been vaccinated?
To donate blood, you must be between 18 and 70 years old and weigh at least 50 kg, have no flu symptoms and have proof of identity. These are the classic rules for donating blood.
But what if we have had Covid-19 or if we have been vaccinated? Response from aassociation of voluntary blood donors of Pontivy and its region :
People who have shown symptoms of Covid must wait 28 days after symptoms disappear or test positive to donate blood and 14 days after having been in contact. With current vaccines, in the vast majority of cases, it is possible to donate blood after an injection of the Covid-19 vaccine, without any postponement period to be observed.
By appointment to respect the sanitary protocol
In order to avoid waiting times and to welcome donors in the best sanitary conditions, blood drives take place by appointment, and registrations are made online.
The collections are held from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. “You must have a certificate mentioning assistance to vulnerable people, if your donation requires you to return to your home after 6 p.m.”, specifies the association of Blood donors from Pontivy and its region.
