Pope Francis has appointed the new president of the academy that trains Vatican diplomats.

The Holy Father appointed Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio, Metropolitan and Apostolic Nuncio of Montemarano. The new appointment follows the resignation of Archbishop Joseph Marino from the United States on January 23, at the age of 70.
Archbishop Pennaccio, who served as Nuncio in India from 2010 to 2016, has been working as the Vatican’s diplomatic representative in Poland since 2016. Archbishop Pennaccio of Aversa, Italy was appointed Nuncio and Archbishop of Rwanda in 1998. He was born in 1952 and is 70 years old.
