Ponorogo Ranks Second in East Java for DHF Cases

Sugiri admitted that he had held a coordination meeting related to efforts to handle DB which was claimed to be the second highest in East Java. As a result, it was concluded that all parties every Friday must participate in mutual cooperation at the civil servant level.

The community service action was carried out simultaneously in all areas of Ponorogo Regency, East Java. The sub-district heads and village heads have also stated that they are ready to mobilize their citizens in this activity.

The hope is that the spread of mosquitoes as vectors or transmission media for DHF will be completely eliminated through this simultaneous movement.

“Indeed there is an increase so that we must work together simultaneously for PSN. Friday we prepare for it. The commanders are ready to move. There are sub-district heads, village heads, heads of health centers who will move to invite residents to do PSN,” said Kang Sugiri Regent.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of the Ponorogo Health Service Agus Pramono who is also the Secretary of the Ponorogo Regency added, currently the number of dengue patients during the two weeks of January reached 58 people.

This number is below the figure in the same period last year which reached 109 people, so it is not listed in the KLB status or Extraordinary Conditions.

“But we are not waiting for the KLB. So we respond by moving together starting on Friday to do PSN. We will also continue to do fogging, but the Health Office must be able to ensure that the medicine is safe for the community,” he said, stating that currently there are 16 fogging devices that belong to the Health Office and several volunteer organizations.
