Poncereal name Aurélien Gilles[1]born September 21, 1991 in Avignon, is a French streamer.
Ponce was born on September 21, 1991.[2] in Avignon. He attended nursery school and primary school at the Marcel Pagnol elementary school in Morières-lès-Avignon. After CM2, he left Morières-lès-Avignon to go to Joseph Vernet middle school then to Théodore Aubanel high school in Avignon[3].
He continued his higher studies at Polytech Montpellier but finally reoriented himself towards the world of theater thanks to the Toulouse conservatory. Disappointed with the Florent course in Paris, he becomes a mathematics teacher for the preparatory classes for the nursing and caregiver competition.[4].
In 2016, he launched into streaming on Twitch solo and then joined Web TV LeStream. When he registered on the platform, he used the pseudonym “PonceFesse”, which he later changed to “Ponce”[2],[4]. His favorite games include World of Warcraft but also many Nintendo games such as Mario Kart[4] or Animal Crossing[5].
In 2019, he launched the show “Ponce la nuit”, first broadcast on the LeStream channel, before being broadcast on his Twitch channel, in which he notably received Antoine Daniel[6] and Samuel Étienne[7].
The same year, he joined Domingo’s team as a regular columnist on the talk show Popcorn[4],[5].
Also in 2019, he completed a “Video Game Tour de France” with the streameur Rivenzi and their friend Manu: for three weeks, they streament — on Ponce’s Twitch channel — their meetings with different video game players and their walks in several cities in France[8].
He has been participating in the Z Event since 2020[9],[10],[11].
In April 2021, he launched a general knowledge game on the Internet, The master of flowers[4],[12].
His account was temporarily suspended by Twitch in June 2021 for broadcasting “a 1970s movie trailer featuring a nipple.”[13] » ; this temporary ban is relayed by Madmoizelle as being a symbol of the exaggerated puritanism of the platform[14].
On August 2, 2022 with the streamers Etoiles, TheGuill84, Ultia, JimmyBoyyy and Jiraiya he became European champion on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe by winning Twitch Rivals (in) about this game[15],[16]. In the final they concluded with a score of 302 points against 190 against Spain[16].
On September 29, 2022, to meet one of the donation objectives of Z Event 2021 “Doing live music with Tip Stevens in public”, Ponce is organizing the Floral Party, a concert bringing together the artists Tip Stevens, Ceylon and Cemented Minds on stage of the Bataclan and broadcast live on its Twitch channel[17],[18]. At the same time, he announced the creation of his music label Floral Records[19].
