PON XX Papua 2021 Men’s Singles Badminton Results: West Java Wins Gold : Okezone Sports

JAYAPURA – West Java badminton player, Panji Ahmad Maulana won a gold medal in the men’s singles event in Jakarta PON XX Papua 2021. He defeated his teammate, Sabda Perkasa Belawa in the top party.

Panji managed to win the match in two games with a score of 21-9 and 21-17. The match took place at Gor Waringin Jayapura, Papua, Indonesia on Wednesday (10/13/2021) morning WIB.

In the first game, Panji immediately dominated the game. Panji’s strokes landed smoothly on Sabda’s side of the field. Panji’s domination continued, it was observed that Sabda was very overwhelmed by Panji’s attacks.

However, Sabda actually fought back towards the end of the first interval of the second game. This is because several times his punches successfully landed on the field side of Panji’s. However, Panji finally managed to finish Sabda’s resistance in the first interval of the second game with a thin score of 11-10.

In the end, Panji succeeded in overcoming the resistance of his compatriots. Panji managed to win the match with a score of 21-17. This result made Panji succeeded in adding to the coffers of a gold medal for West Java at the XX Papua PON 2021.
