JAYAPURA – West Java badminton player, Panji Ahmad Maulana won a gold medal in the men’s singles event in Jakarta PON XX Papua 2021. He defeated his teammate, Sabda Perkasa Belawa in the top party.
Panji managed to win the match in two games with a score of 21-9 and 21-17. The match took place at Gor Waringin Jayapura, Papua, Indonesia on Wednesday (10/13/2021) morning WIB.
In the first game, Panji immediately dominated the game. Panji’s strokes landed smoothly on Sabda’s side of the field. Panji’s domination continued, it was observed that Sabda was very overwhelmed by Panji’s attacks.
As a result, in the first interval, Panji finally managed to beat his compatriot with a score of 11-2. After that, Panji’s attacks became more effective because Sabda did not provide significant resistance.
