Pommelien Thijs kisses Flo Windey in new video clip: “Feel free to call me bi, but I don’t put a label on it myself”


A date, a party and a deep kiss. In her new video clip, Pommelien Thijs (21) experiences a romantic night with StuBru presenter Flo Windey (26). Her way of coming out as bisexual. “Although I am not going to introduce myself as: Hello, I’m Pommelien and I’m bi† I remain the same as before.”

From single Unusual has been doing well on Tiktok, Spotify and in the charts for two weeks. But with the video clip, Pommelien Thijs now creates clarity about the content of her new song. She sings about the first time she had feelings for a girl, and relives that moment in the clip.

She gets help with this from StuBru face Flo Windey. She also regularly addressed ‘outing’ as a theme in her programs Flowjob in Club Flo† In the video, Thijs and Windey go on a speed date with a bunch of guys, but they notice that they are more attracted to each other. At a party they seal the evening with a kiss.

Unusual is about the first jitters in your stomach, and the excitement that belongs to falling in love”, says Thijs on the radio. “I wrote it after a night where my friendship with a girl suddenly increased. With all the confusion that comes with it. Before that I only had that with boys, but then I thought: Oh hey. (laughs) It felt exactly the same to me. It’s something universal. Whether you like boys, girls, both or others, that feeling is the same for everyone.”

Family informed

Met Unusual Thijs comes out as bisexual, although she doesn’t necessarily want to put a label on it. “Something like that is very personal. Those feelings didn’t come to me all of a sudden. You can say I’m bi, but I don’t care. I understand that such a label provides clarity for some, but it also creates a certain pressure. I don’t need to name that. It’s just that. From now on I will not introduce myself as: Hello, I’m Pommelien and I’m bi† I am the same as before.”

Thijs prefers to focus on her music, and not just on the content of the clip. “It’s a summery song that can be about anyone. I do have one heads-up given to my family. I wanted them to hear it out of my mouth first, without seeing me on someone else’s screen right away.”

Na Honey girls is Unusual Thijs’ second solo single. Previously she had a monster hit with Now that we don’t talk anymoreher duet with Jaap Reesema.
