The Polytron Fox-S electric motorbike was officially launched in Indonesia with an off-road price of IDR 9 million. Interestingly, the electric motorbike purchase package does not include a battery. So the battery is provided by Polytron, and will be rented to Fox-S customers at a cost of IDR 125 thousand per month.
“Battery rental at Fox-S is an implementation of energy and material utilization aimed at reducing battery waste. Because batteries are susceptible to damage and degradation, this risk will be taken over by Polytron,” said Tekno Wibowo, as Commercial Director of Polytron, in Jakarta, Monday ( 1/8/2024).
“Polytron will also fully cover the performance of the Fox-S electric motorbike battery throughout the life of the vehicle. Customers can easily submit a battery replacement claim if they encounter problems,” added Tekno.
So how does this battery rental system work? So every time you purchase a Polytron Fox-S electric motorbike, customers must register on the official Polytron application. So all payments for electric motorbike battery rental fees are made in the Polytron EV application by refilling (top up).
Well, the whereabouts of this battery can also be tracked by Polytron. So if there are consumers who are stubborn about not paying the battery rental fee, Polytron can cut off the battery connection with the electric motorbike user concerned. Apart from that, Polytron also has the right to immediately remove the battery if the renter does not pay the rental fee by the due date.
In addition, if there is damage or a decrease in power capacity below 85% on the battery rented by the consumer, it will be replaced with a new battery by Polytron. Apart from using a rental system, Polytron also opens up opportunities for consumers who want to buy batteries. However, the price is quite expensive, the price of one Fox-S battery can reach IDR 9 million.
