Today marks fifty-one years since the heroic uprising of the Polytechnic University. Since Friday morning, its gates have been opened and citizens of all ages are paying tribute to the fighters against the Junta.
The historic building of the National Technical University of Athens will remain accessible to citizens and organizations wishing to honor those who took part in the 1973 uprising until 1:00 p.m. in order to begin the regular march to the US Embassy.
The Senate of the Polytechnic will be in continuous session from the morning of Friday 15/11 until the morning of Monday 18/11. Also, until tomorrow, Monday, there will be increased guarding of the Patision complex by the NTUA security service.
“Lobster” Athens
The Police have implemented traffic regulations that will remain in force until Monday due to the festive events, as well as today’s march.
From Friday morning, traffic regulations have come into force in the center of Athens and in a radius from Exarcheion Square until September 3rd and from Panepistimiou to Kodrigtonos, where stopping and parking are prohibited until Monday morning.

- Stadium
- Constitution
- Amalia
- University
- B. Sophia
- Alexandra
- Patision
At the same time, more than 5,000 police officers, drones and helicopters that will provide a direct image of the operations center of GADA, water throwing vehicles and guarding government buildings, embassies and university institutions, are foreseen in the planning of the Ministry of Citizen Protection for today, Sunday, the day of the climax of the events .
The metro stations will also be closed from 14:00 at noon:

- Monastiraki
- Annunciation
- Concert Hall
- Concord
- University
While there will also be modifications to bus and trolley routes.
