Polynesian teachers assigned to mainland France: “it goes against,” says the minister – Radio1 Tahiti

The Minister of Education Ronny Teriipaia, before the Polynesian convention, highlighted the position of 67 Polynesian winners in National Education competitions. Eight of them today find themselves without local work for their internship year, “While we have the positions to get them”.

This year, there were 67 Polynesian winners of the Certificate of Competence for Secondary Education Teaching (Capes) and the Certificate of Competence for Vocational Secondary Teaching (CAPLP). “It should be noted that we had 38 last year, which is very impressive for Polynesia,” said Education Minister Ronny Teriipaia. About forty of them were able to be assigned to Polynesia for their internship year, and in theory, the others are assigned to mainland France, especially since their department is full of fenua already. Two have given up, named the minister in the room, one by asking for a one-year suspension, the other by resigning. The problem remains with eight trainees, which the General Directorate of Human Resources of National Education has decided “at the last minute” to influence metropolis “while we have the mails to receive them. (…) It is a revolution! »said the minister.

Ronny Teriipaia expressed his “anger” etc “sorrow” in the hemicycle, and he regretted the lack of support from the vice president Thierry Terret “to Polynesian education policy, which is why he is here, this is his main mission. In any case, I am ready to fight to the end for our Polynesian children. It discourages them, it doesn’t make them want to succeed in school and progress professionally. We ask the State to take into account the assignments of citizens abroad. »
