“After a bad start, we worked our way back into the game and defended with a lot of effort in the end,” said Pöltl. His team achieved an “important victory”. The teams ranked seventh through tenth in the two NBA conferences participate in the play-in.
A 12-0 run in the final quarter paved the way to success at the Smoothie King Center, with which the Spurs turned a 90-92 into a 102-92 within just under three minutes. New Orleans came up to 105:103, but San Antonio had the last word. Keldon Johnson was the Texans’ top scorer with 21 points. Dejounte Murray wrote in triple double digits with 15 points, 13 assists and eleven rebounds. On Monday, the Spurs will be visiting the Houston Rockets, who together with the Orlando Magic (20:55) have the worst record in the NBA.
