TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Head of the Public Information Bureau, Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, said there was no difference in the data on the death toll from the Pertamina Plumpang Depot fire. The victims recorded were at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital and Pertamina Central Hospital.
“There is no difference, but these are the bodies received by us (Kramat Jati Police Hospital) and we will carry out identification to find out the identity of the bodies,” said Ramadhan at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, Sunday, March 5, 2023.
From the data recorded at the Koja Military Command Post 01, there were 19 victims who died. Kramat Jati Police Hospital received 15 bodies (nine men and six women), as well as one body part. Meanwhile, the Pertamina Central Hospital still recorded one death from the fire incident.
Head of the Police Medical Bureau, National Police Medicine and Health Center, Brigadier General Nyoman Eddy Purnama Wirawan, said that his party had not received any additional bodies from the fire victims at the Pertamina Plumpang depot since 16.00 earlier. Regarding the difference in data, it will be synchronized again later.
“Maybe the additional data beyond that is the data from the RSPP Hospital, there are two of them, maybe if we add them up at least 15 plus two makes 17 plus one body part that we have to make sure of,” said Nyoman.
The Kramat Jati Police Hospital has only identified three bodies. One body that was just identified was Iriana, a 61-year-old woman, a resident of Rawa Badak Selatan Village, Koja District, North Jakarta.
Regarding one part of the victim’s body that was sent, it is still unknown. “We are currently carrying out a DNA examination to see if that one body part is one of these 15 or is there one individual,” said Nyoman.
The Pertamina Plumpang Depot fire incident occurred on Friday, March 3, 2023, at around 20.00. Many houses were burnt and dozens of residents were injured, and the exact cause of the fire is not yet known.
