Polri does not allow Shopee League 1 to roll

Jakarta

The news is that there are no recommendations Shopee Liga 1 2020 confirmed by PR Police Headquarters, Inspector General of Police. Argo Yuwono. The fate of the competition is now hanging.

Even though the competition will soon be rolled out again with PSS Sleman entertain Kediri peaches as the opening match. The match will be held at Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, Thursday (1/10/2020).

There are at least three reasons why the Police are reluctant to recommend the Shopee League 1 title. Mainly because of the high number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia.

With that in mind, the Police are reluctant to issue permits to the crowd. On one side, PSSI and PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) has actually decided that the continued competition should not be attended by spectators.

“Regarding the New Indonesia League 1 and 2 which will be implemented starting on 1 Oct 2020, the National Police did not issue a Crowd permit with the following considerations: First, the COVID-19 pandemic situation where the number of infected people continues to increase,” Argo Yuwono told reporters.

“Secondly, the Police have issued information and asserted that it will not issue public permits at all levels,” he added.

“Third, the Police together with the TNI and related stakeholders are concentrating on supporting government policies to carry out Operation Justisi at all levels,” he said again.

Tonight, PSSI, PT LIB, and Kemenpora are holding a meeting regarding the fate of Shopee Liga 1. This was learned from the Acting Head (Plt) of PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi who revealed the meeting before being involved in a Webinar with sports reporters, Monday (28/9 /), night.

“I apologize for what time is this event? Because I will have a meeting with Mr. Ketum (Mochamad Iriawan), Mr. Hadian (Managing Director of PT LIB) as well as Menpora (Zainudin Amali). (Status) Liga 1 is on Alert 1,” said Yunus. Nusi before the Webinar started.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of PT LIB, Akhmad Hadian Lukita, did not confirm the agenda for the meeting with PSSI and Kemenpora. He only expressed hope that the competition could go ahead as planned.

“We are waiting for developments, hopefully there will be no changes,” said Akhmad Hadian, briefly when confirmed by detikSport regarding the Police permit and what meetings will be discussed by PSSI, PT LIB, and Menpora.
