The televised debate on the Taipei mayor elections ended yesterday and the green, blue and white parties faced each other: according to the latest polls, Kuomintang candidate Jiang Wanan won 35% of the votes, a decrease of 2% compared to the previous period, and it was the candidate with the largest decline. Support from DPP candidate Chen Shizhong was 26% and support from non-party candidate Huang Shanshan was 20%, both slightly down 1%.

According to a “TVBS” poll, a telephone interview was conducted yesterday at 4 o’clock after the debate. The survey results showed that 39% of citizens watched or listened to the televised debate, while 61% did not. An estimated 810,000 Taipei City voters have tuned in.

The survey was conducted by the TVBS Public Opinion Survey Center from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm on November 5th.
